Welcome to the Gateway to the College
(Admissions Office)

Registation

When should I register for classes?

You should register as early as possible to ensure that you get into the classes you
want before they close.

If I am a new student, how can I register for classes?

New students need to meet with a college advisor in order to complete the registration
process. You can walk into Room A120 or make an appointment over the phone ((773)
481-8200) or via email (wn_e-advising@ccc.edu).

What documents should I bring for registration?

All students must bring the following:

  • Proof of address: driver’s license, voter registration card, Illinois State ID, or
    consular ID
  • If you do not live in Chicago but work full-time in the city limits, a letter from your
employer on company letterhead verifying your employment in the city
  • Social Security Number for Financial Aid purposes
  • Wright ID card if you are a returning student
  • Payment: cash, personal check, VISA, or MasterCard
  • Passport, if you are a foreign student
  • Proof of eligibility for classes with prerequisites

If I am a current or returning student, do I have to register on-campus?

Not necessarily. All current and returning students can register online using
http://My.CCC.edu , or over the phone, at (312) 553-3450. However, it is strongly
recommended that all students meet with a college or faculty advisor prior to
registration.

When is the last day to register online?

Online registration is available before the semester starts. Once the semester has
started, students may be able to register in person if the class has not met for the first
time.

How do I log into My.CCC.edu?

Use your Student Username, which is the same as the first part of your CCC Student
Email Address (before the @ symbol) and your Blackboard username. If you do not
know any of these, you can retrieve this information online at http://My.CCC.edu using
your Student ID Number and your birth date.
What if I am a new or prospective student and I just want to search

The course schedule?

You can search the course schedule without logging in. Visit the web site at
http://My.CCC.edu and click the class schedule link.

What is full-time status vs. part-time status?

During the fall and spring semesters, students are considered full time if they register for
12 credit hours or more. Students are permitted to register for up to 18 credit hours
during the fall/spring semesters. During the summer, a student registered for 6 hours is
full time and the maximum number of hours allowed is 9. Students will need a
cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher – and written permission of the Registrar (or designee)
– to enroll in 19 or more credit hours for fall or spring terms and 10 or more credit hours
during the summer.

Do I have to be full-time to receive Financial Aid?

No. You may be eligible for some Financial Aid with as few as 3 credit hours,
depending on your Financial Aid qualification.

Can I enroll in more than one City College at a time?

Yes. Concurrent enrollment within the district (at more than one of the City Colleges) is
permitted. If you are enrolled in an equal number of hours at more than one college, the
first college in which you enrolled is considered your home campus.
