Occupational
and Technical Degree and Certificate Programs
These programs lead to an Associate
in Applied Science Degree, or Basic or Advanced Certificates. These
programs have been designed to meet the needs of students who are
seeking employment in a particular area or are seeking advancement
opportunities in their current occupation. They are not intended for
transfer. Each degree program of study contains a General Education
component and required career courses. There might be further information
under Academic Departments.

Admissions Requirements
For all Associate in Applied
Science Programs, students must read at the 12th grade level and write English
at the Freshman Composition (101) level. For some of the programs, a Mathematics
placement level is also required. For further details check the program of study
which you plan on pursuing.
Occupational Program
Guarantee for Employed Graduates
The City Colleges of Chicago
will provide an employed graduate of an Occupational Program (AAS, Advanced
Certificate or Basic Certificate) up to nine additional, post graduation credit
hours or the equivalent at no charge for tuition and specified fees. The Educational
Guarantee applies to graduates who lack the skills consistent with the position
for which their AAS degree or certificate is a requirement of employment. Graduates
may apply for an educational guarantee through a written notice to the Office
of the Vice President. The skills deficiency must be certified in writing by
the employer within 90 days of initial employment. The Office of the President
is responsible for the final approval of the graduate's retraining plan. Please
refer to the Student Policy Manual for specific conditions and procedures guiding
the Occupational Program Educational Guarantee.

A four semester sequence of courses is provided for each program
area. The student should realize that requirements for four-year
institutions, specific career objectives, and course offerings at
Wright College may require some changes in these recommendations
and/or sequences. Students should consult with a counselor
or faculty advisor before making these changes.
