Tuition,
Fees, and Charges
The following tuition,
fees, and charges have been adopted by the Board of Trustees of Community
College District No. 508. This tuition, fee, and charge schedule is subject
to change at any time by the Board of Trustees.
All tuition, fees,
and charges are payable at the time of registration. Payment may be made
in cash, by check or money order payable to the college of registration.
NO THIRD-PARTY CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
The following credit cards are also accepted in payment for tuition: MASTER CARD OR VISA.
WARNING! There
will be a $25.00 fee assessed for any returned credit card charge as well
as for a check returned for Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) or stop-payment
check. Any student, who has once given the City Colleges of Chicago either
a NSF or stop-payment check, will not be allowed to make any subsequent
payment by check at any of the City Colleges of Chicago. Consult the respective
College Business Office for details.

and Withdrawals
Administrative
Withdrawal
1. If the administration
cancels or withdraws a class, all tuition and fees, including non-resident
tuition, paid by students for that class, shall be fully refunded.
2. If a student
does not show for a class and does not withdraw officially from the
class, and is therefore marked NSW at the beginning of a semester, no
refund will be issued.

Withdrawal
3. If a student
registers and withdraws formally from College prior to the first day
of class, all tuition shall be refunded in full, except for the $25
non-refundable registration fee.
4. If a student
withdraws formally from a class during class days 1 to 5 of the semester,
80% of applicable tuition and non-resident tuition shall be refunded.
5. If a student
withdraws formally from a class from class day 6 through the end of
the semester, no refund will be made.
6. During the Summer
Semester:
80% refund during
registration and class day 1 and day 2 of semester
No refund from class day 3 through end of semester

Waiver of
Tuition and Fees
The $25.00 registration
charge is not waived for any student. Students getting free tuition must
pay this charge.
Senior Citizens (65
years of age or older) shall not be charged for regular college courses
during the late registration if seats are available. Note Non-Refundable
Registration Charges section above. Proof of senior citizen status is
birth or baptismal certificate, driver s license, or RTA Special Users
Pass, and MUST be presented at time of registration.
Public Aid Recipients
shall not be charged for the first five credit hours of regular college
courses during late registration. No waiver is applicable when six or
more credit hours are scheduled. Note Non-Refundable Registration Charges
section above.
Other Waivers Students
enrolled in six or more regular college credit hours may add any of the
following courses without tuition (exclusive of the courses themselves
listed below):
Counseling 101 and
111 and other courses as may be identified as tuition-exempt. All Adult/Continuing
Education courses on the SPAS state approved computer list.
Tuition Chargeback
Chicago residents
who wish to enroll in a program not available at any of the City Colleges
of Chicago may apply for tuition assistance to attend another public community
college in Illinois where the desired program is offered. Applications
may be obtained by contacting the Chargeback Office, The City Colleges
of Chicago, 226 W. Jackson, Chicago, Il 60606, at least 30 days prior
to the beginning date of the semester or term of enrollment of the college
the student plans to attend.
Non-Chicago residents
who plan to enroll in a college program that is not available at a community
college in their district should apply for tuition assistance to their
local community college board office or to their high school district
in those districts having no community college board.
