Pre-Credit Program

 

Mission and Goals

The Pre-Credit Program at Wright College is an innovative, developmental bridge program for high school graduates or GED recipients who wish to attend college but test below the minimum college entry levels in reading, writing, and/or math skills.

To prepare students for the developmental credit/college credit level, the Pre-Credit Program combines intensive course work in reading, writing, critical thinking, and/or math skills with academic support services ranging from tutoring and computer word processing training to study skills workshops, academic advisement, and career planning.

 

 

Student Learning Outcomes

 

Students who complete the Pre-Credit program at Wright College will be able to:

  1. Students will recognize and utilize available academic support services.

  2. Students will process mathematical information symbolically, visually, numerically, or verbally.

  3. Students will select data and mathematical (arithmetic, algebra, or geometry)processes to solve real world problems.

  4. Students will utilize basic English grammar in verbal and written communication.

  5. Students will apply reading skills to material in a range of content areas.
