Assistant Athletic Director - Wrestling
Head Coach
Eric Wetzel
A Dunbar High School graduate, led his team to two city championships. He has
5 national championships and is a 3 time Olympic Team alternate. He also was
a bronze medallist in the Pan American Games. Coach Wetzel has been with Wright
College since 2000 and has had 10 regional qualifiers for the NJCAA Nationals.
Wetzel is a board member of the Illinois Kids Wrestling Foundation, and a member
of the Illinois Wrestling Official and Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Men's Basketball Head Coach

Wharton
Coach Wharton brings over 20 years of successful coaching experience
to the Wright College "Rams" Men's Basketball Team. Coach Wharton
has coached at Wright College since 2001. He also served as Head
Men's Basketball coach at Elgin Community College, where he built
an unprecedented record. In addition, he coached at Kennedy King
College, Omaha Burke High School, North Chicago, and Foreman High
Schools.

Women's Basketball Head Coach
Arlena Roach
Coach Roach earned a bachelor degree in Liberal Arts & Science
at the University of Illinois (Champaign) where she played women's
basketball
on a four-year athletic scholarship. She was also a four-year Varsity
player at Lourdes High School, where she led Lourdes to the Elite
Eight in 1988. During her four-year journey as a Varsity player,
she was a three time-First Team All Conference Selection (GCAC),
and earned First Team Allstate Honors in 1988 from the Champaign-Urbana
News Gazette. Prior to Wright College, Roach coached Lourdes High
School to seasons of 18-6 in 2000-01 and 24-8 2001-02, being ranked
5th in Class "A" the State of Illinois. In 2002-03,
she served as an assistant coach at Morton College, as acting Head
Coach at
Robert Morris College in 2003-04, as Head Coach at Francis Parker
H.S. in 2004-05, and as an Assistant at Wright College 2005-06 seasons.
Arlena enter her first season as the Head Women's Basketball Coach
at Wright College, Coach Roach brings a 'hands on' type of intensity
and enthusiasm to Women's Basketball.
