What to expect:

Why not start early? The best sessions often start early in the writing process.
We can begin working with you even before you have put finger to keyboard–as soon
as you get an assignment, please consider visiting us! You can make an appointment,
or just drop in..

First, the consultant asks you to fill out a form that indicates exactly how you want to
use the session. Specifically, we need to know where you are in the process. We also
need to know whether you want a report sent back to your instructor.

Then you and the consultant begin your discussion. If you have specific questions, or if
your instructor has asked you to work on a specific area, you can raise those issues. If
you are trying to get started, the consultant may ask you questions to help you clarify
your ideas. If you have a draft or a corrected paper, the two of you may look at it
together to help you organize and polish, or understand what lies behind your
instructor's comments.

Sessions typically last for 30 minutes to an hour. But you are encouraged to come back
again for more help.
